Neal Adams pencils, my inks

Back in the '90's I inked a few pages for a Samuree story that hasn't been published. I love seeing how Adams works out the composition and movement in his roughs and still keeps it spontaneous when he refines the pencils.

Neil Gaiman's panel description asked for an incredible library, "If librarian's had a magazine, this would be their centerfold."

I must have done twenty thumbnail sketches, trying to come up with a layout that would work. I still don't know if I succeeded but here it is.

Howard the Duck

This was for the 2004 Kansas City Comic Convention. As I was working on the pencils, I roughed in a logo suggestion, but didn't finish it or submit it to the convention folks.

I think this was the only time I've ever drawn Howard, let alone Bev.

Superman vs. Aliens cover art for "FAN" magazine

I went way, way, too far with my reworking of Dan Jurgens' layouts on the Superman/Aliens series. Even though he wasn't doing finished pencils and part of my job description was to refine the drawings as I inked them, I really should have worked harder at preserving more of his style.
