A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.

Howard the Duck
This was for the 2004 Kansas City Comic Convention. As I was working on the pencils, I roughed in a logo suggestion, but didn't finish it or submit it to the convention folks.
I think this was the only time I've ever drawn Howard, let alone Bev.
hi,kevin....i've been following your blog for a couple of months now....a quick question on your drawing tools....when i see your pencils it looks like you are pencilling with a mechanical pencil, probably .07mm...and a soft (maybe "B" lead)....is this right?...just curious....best,brian....

ReplyDeleteHi Brian.
ReplyDeleteYes, I use a mechanical pencil or "lead holder" for most of my work. 2mm HB.
I'll occasionally draw with a regular wooden 2H pencil for larger sketches that need bigger, fatter lines.
