A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.

Man-Bat page 17
In the second layout, Man-Bat's drool is about to drip on Batman's face. Looks like I moved things a little in the pencils so it's not a direct hit. Too bad...
I don't think I wanted to vary much from the script. There was one panel where I didn't think I could draw what Jan described in his script and I seriously thought about calling him up and asking if I could change it, but I did some sketches and realized his way wasn't so tough after all. It ended up being one of my favorite panels in the book. I'll point it out when/if we get to it.
Ah, Kevin, I am SUCH a geek for your work! Thank you for just being you. Beautiful stuff!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rafael!
ReplyDeleteAgreed on the drool. But that last panel rocks!
ReplyDeleteBatman's superstitious fatalism in this comic is bizarre.
ReplyDeleteI like the art, though.
that is awesome Mr. Nowlan i always wondered, how much room did DC give you to "vary" from the script?
ReplyDeletepeace out
