A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.

Doom Patrol: Ramona Fradon pencils
This one was for the "Silver Age" series in 2000. I was a bit star-struck, inking Ramona Fradon's pencils.
Nice job. In a case like this where you're inking a hero of yours, I wonder if you are ever tempted to lightbox the pencils so you can keep the pencil art ;)
Great job, Kevin. Fradon is also a hero of mine. Meeting her was one of the highlights of this year's Comicon. I now own one of her terrific DC horror pages. She had some great stories about working with a certain eccentric writer, too.

ReplyDeleteA wonderful synthesis of your style with Fradon's pencils. I like the bonuses you threw in.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I like the striking added rooftop especially, but I really love that crazed look on the kid's face in the pencil version.
ReplyDeleteMichael, if I were inking this cover today, I'd work on a blueline copy. It's a lot easier than lightboxing.
