A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.

Hellboy Jr. pin-up
This was for Mike Mignola and Bill Wray's notorious Hellboy Junior comic back in '99. I'm also showing a self-rejected color guide, just 'cause I had it handy.
Hope you all have a great New Year! See you back here in 2010!
Kevin, I've always been in love with this illustration. By the way, the coloring is outstanding! Hope your family and you have a great 2010. Best wishes!
Ahh, what a great way to end the year! It's a little funny and a little scary... just like my 2009-! ;-) All of us here in Nowlandia owe you a huge debt of gratitude for keeping us entertained, informed and inspired throughout the year so I think I speak for all of us when I say, THANK YOU! Best wishes to you and yours on a wonderful 2010!
So many cool pin-ups coming out of this series. This particular piece was a long used wallpaper on my Motorola Razr, then Rizr cellphones for a couple years.

This still holds true from when I first saw this pinup, I love Hellboy Jr. facial expression. Just love it.
ReplyDeleteJust now noticing this has the same vibe as the cover for Wolverine #13 you did.

ReplyDeleteMy New Years wish would be to see a Mignola and Nowlan Hellboy graphic novel.

ReplyDeleteNotorious? Is it really? What about "tasteless and funny"?
