Dr. Strange #4 cover art

Thumbnails, layout, pencils, inks, final color sans logo, mock-up with original logo placement and final cover with trade dress, etc. Looks like Doc and the other magicians are toasting the New Year so a slightly belated Happy 2016 to all of you! Hope it's a good one!

Batgirl #35 Halloween Variant Cover

You know... I really do love Mark Chiarello... and not just because he thinks of me when a cover like this comes up. He knew this was something I'd have a lot of fun drawing. He's the best.

Anyway, two preliminary sketches, then pencils, inks and final color:

Batman vs Bat-Bane Variant Cover art

First, I struggled with the layout, trying to find an angle that would show both characters clearly...

Cover art for All-New X-Men #19

I think this one went on sale yesterday. Colors and seps are by the supremely talented Mr. Chris Sotomayor.

By the way, I don't have the slightest idea where that little feather in the lower left corner came from.

Superman Unchained #4 variant cover art

I think this book is on the stands now so it should be safe for me to post it here. DC asked for the 1938 version of Superman on this one. That's why the boots and chest emblem look so strange.

The best thing I've drawn this week...

I was sure that I'd end up doing a lot of redrawing, and probably end up looking for photo reference (or a prop baby) but this sequence came together very easily, just working from memory. It even made me smile a little after I finished the third drawing.

Finally, The Man-Thing Graphic Novel!

Looks like this is scheduled to go on sale in October and it'll be a hardcover! You can pre-order at the Amazon link over on the right, but they don't have any images yet. With that in mind I hope no one cares if I post a couple of samples here to whet your appetite:
