Elongated Man origin: page two
You can see me struggling with the first panel here. The pose in the preliminary sketch almost works but it's a little weak.

Hey Kevin, Just wanted to drop a note and let you know I'm really digging this blog. I check it every day. Great seeing your work in different stages of the process. Keep the blog posts coming!
ReplyDeletePanel one - still like the way you stretched, yet compressed the image to really push the perspective on it. Hard to say you struggled with that when it looks incredible. Of course, we didn't have to draw it. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Benjamin.
ReplyDeletePatrick, I just kept drawing different variations of that first panel until something clicked. Glad you like the way it turned out.
please post more of your pencil to ink process..
ReplyDeletei know you must tired answering questions on your inking process..
enlighten me your inking process and medium used?: nib pen and brush?
I will, later. I'm trying to get caught up on deadlines so I'm doing shorter posts now. But no, I'm not tired of answering those questions about inking.
ReplyDeleteThe Hunt 102 is still my favorite and I'll use any brush that I can find that'll give me a nice point. They're getting harder to find at art supply stores.
