DC is using this in their promotional material so I guess it's okay to show the whole page here now. The image size is about 16" x 22"! This is for Mark Chiarello's Wednesday Comics project so it'll be printed very close to original art size. Needless to say, I'm inking it tight.

Oh, my G-G-G... That's perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe Wednesday Comics project already looked fun and interesting. This alone, however, is worth the price of admission.
This may seem like a weird question but when inking others, do you ink on the originals or a copy, lightbowed or otherwise?
No, it's not a weird question at all. With a few exceptions, I ink on the original pencils. But I've done a few pieces on blue-line printouts of the pencils. It's far easier than inking on a light box.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you guys were part of Wednesday comics. Is this the second wave or the first? I saw Metal Men was included but it was supposed to be by Ian C.
ReplyDeleteWe're last minute replacements for Churchill who dropped out.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous artwork! Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez is just about the classiest damn penciller out there, in my eyes. Batman Confidential proved that your inks on top are even better, and I can't wait to see the final story.
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance you'd be able to make a high-res image of the inks available to download after the book is on shelves? I'd LOVE to color this.
I agree with your first sentence.
ReplyDeleteI'll give some thought to the high-res scan. I like the coloring I see on your site!
Garcia Lopez art is just beautifull !
