Superman Unchained #4 variant cover art
I think this book is on the stands now so it should be safe for me to post it here. DC asked for the 1938 version of Superman on this one. That's why the boots and chest emblem look so strange.
the shield that only appears in Action Comics #1 cover!! well, tks for such a post. it's always a pleasure to see the single steps of a creative process. the pencils version is absolutely a masterpiece.
i hate to say it, but the coloring ruins all the goodness of the finished black and whtie for me. its just to heavy and saturated. There are times i long for the old school coloring on the books. great cover, super fun to look at the versions. thanks for the scans!
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThere's magic between steps 1 & 2.
Can you explain the purpose of step 4?
Refining some details and adjusting the pose a little.
Deleteabsolutely wonderfull !!!

ReplyDeleteNice to see the steps you take, Kevin. Thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteLove the color on the 2nd to last step... what was the purpose of shifting all the hues to a bluish purple?
