Wrightson's Solomon Grundy pencils, page 22

In case some of us have forgotten, this page shows how skillfully Bernie arranges areas of black and white.  He mastered "chiaroscuro" before most of us could spell the word. It's all there in the pencils, which makes an inker's job a lot easier.

As discussed elsewhere, this story was written, pencilled and inked in 1997, but remained unpublished until 2010, in "Batman's Hidden Treasures".

Batman and Solomon Grundy: page 17

Bernie Wrightson pencils, my inks, Ron Marz script. Drawn in the late '90's and published earlier this year in Batman Hidden Treasures #1. Sincere thanks to Mark Chiarello for rescuing this story from the DC flat files.

Batman and Solomon Grundy: Wrightson pencils, Nowlan inks

I think we did this 22 page story more than ten years ago, but it's still sitting on a shelf at DC, gathering dust.

Solomon Grundy

This was for a DC card a few years ago. If I had to do it over again I might have drawn both figures a little less wonky but it was fun.
