This one was killed after I started on the pencils. If you read it, you'll see why.

A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.
That's hilarious!
ReplyDeleteSo, was this a gag between you and the writer, a suicidal gesture by the art director/editor, or was it actually approved and then killed later by the client?
ReplyDeleteYour guess is as good as mine. I followed the script when I drew it but after I submitted the pencils for this and one other strip the job vanished into limbo. Next time I spoke with the art director (several months later) he was employed elsewhere. That chronology suggests that your second theory might be close to the truth but I really have no idea.
ReplyDeleteHoly shit that was good! Thank you for sharing all of these. This project has been so interesting to see. Now I just need to find a way to get one of those cups....
