Doom Patrol: Ramona Fradon pencils
This one was for the "Silver Age" series in 2000. I was a bit star-struck, inking Ramona Fradon's pencils.

Nice job. In a case like this where you're inking a hero of yours, I wonder if you are ever tempted to lightbox the pencils so you can keep the pencil art ;)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful synthesis of your style with Fradon's pencils. I like the bonuses you threw in.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, I like the striking added rooftop especially, but I really love that crazed look on the kid's face in the pencil version.
ReplyDeleteMichael, if I were inking this cover today, I'd work on a blueline copy. It's a lot easier than lightboxing.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Kevin. Fradon is also a hero of mine. Meeting her was one of the highlights of this year's Comicon. I now own one of her terrific DC horror pages. She had some great stories about working with a certain eccentric writer, too.
