Frankenstein
Update: I found some pencil sketches. No scan of the finished pencils but the larger sketch is pretty tight so it's the next best thing.

Love it. I remember this piece from your first sketchbook (with different coloring).
ReplyDeleteWe only printed 40 of those sketchbooks so even though it's a published piece I'm assuming that most of the folks out there haven't seen it.
ReplyDeleteits a new one for me.very nice !
ReplyDeleteBoy, I'm glad DC wouldn't let you, me and Bernie do that Bizarro story to go with the Batman/Grundy job. I mean, you and Bernie and a Frankenstein-inspired story? That would NEVER work...
ReplyDeleteDon't get me started...
ReplyDeleteUghh...more sadness knowing there could have been more stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteSweet drawing as usual. Really like how the color scheme on this enhanced the main figure. Great example of how flat coloring can really pop a drawing.
I´m reading about that history on your Modern Masters right now. We need it to be published!!
ReplyDeleteAre you listening, DC?
Is the little change position of Frankie from the first sketch to the final drawing (not so powerfull) something you were looking for?
No, I'm afraid that was an accident. I'm often frustrated when I can't keep some of the impact of the sketches when I clean things up in the finished drawing.
ReplyDeleteDon´t worry!
ReplyDeleteI love both of them.
