Joe's pencils show the original mask design, which was changed before the art was sent to me for inking.

Love your and Joe's work on the Azrael mini-series!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Benny.
ReplyDeleteThis was the first of your work i ever saw, i remember i bought the tpb in Forbidden Planet when i was about 12 or 13! Awesome job, that comic looked amazing
ReplyDeleteYah what a interesting post. thanks for sharing us.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I loved the combination of you and Joe. Liked the way you inked the metal on the costume. Just a subtle thing that might go as an afterthought.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see the earlier costume design too. That's a book that I get sucked into every time I open it. Even the intro explaining how the creative team came together always fascinated me!
ReplyDeleteHave you got a record of the process behind the great Batman poster you two did that works three out of four ways up (with the Joker hanging over the edge of a railing?).
I personally think Quesada's suffered for inkers ever since but maybe that's the Nowlan effect : )
I don't think I even have a copy of that poster, let alone any information about how it evolved. Sorry, WIll.
ReplyDeleteI bought the book know nothing about the character. Man, when I read it I just fell in love with the character and your inks. Do you still have original art from the mini?
