This one was drawn in 2008 for an anniversary issue of Fables. I picked this character to draw because of the overalls. Unfortunately, my colors were way too dark for the uncoated stock so most of the picture just turned black. Live and learn...

Man, intense cross hatching and rendering on this one. Reminds me of a Bernie Wrightson face. Oh sweetness!
ReplyDeleteBummer about the paper stock but imagine this still work because of the sweet composition. I'm squinting at it to imagine the darkened print version, yep, still striking!
ReplyDeleteit's funny you mention paper stock, in my design class the proffessor was giving a lecture on this very thing, and i never knew the difference between coated, uncoated, pantone colors, etc...
