From 1995. I don't even remember doing this one but it sure looks like my signature.

A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.
I don't mean to be "that guy", but is that date accurate?
ReplyDeleteAnd I've wondered before how your work over Giffen's would look. Not at all disappointed.

ReplyDeleteProbably not. MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS debuted in 1988, but that issue came out in 1994 (dated 1/1995).
But even without the signature, the Surfer's head, if nothing else, would make it clearly a Nowlan ink job.
On a Giffen note, Jimmy Palmiotti once told me, when inking Giffen pencils of this era, that the way you find out what Keith drew is you ink all the lines, and then you go, "Oh! That's what it was!"

Sorry... you're right. I'll go back and fix the date.
ReplyDeleteYou and Giffen... who woulda thunk it? It totally works. I'd love to see an entire story with that art team-up.
