Who knew I'd made a copy of the pencils before I started painting this all those years ago? I didn't, until I found this halftone stat the other day.

A random collection of material from comic artist Kevin Nowlan. Started with the best of intentions, but like most other efforts, doomed to perish from neglect as soon as the novelty wears off.
Lovely.
ReplyDeleteMr.Nowlan ,

Hi Raymond,
ReplyDeleteI checked out your blog and was very impressed with the work I saw there. You're very talented! Thanks for the kind words.
Kevin
You know looking at the color in this piece reminded me of a cover you did some time ago.

You've always seemed skilled at great composition and color theory.
Makes me believe you're a robot. :\

Friends have teased me about that Omicron cover for years. It was a benefit piece and had to be drawn very quickly. I'm not certain, but I think someone else colored it.
ReplyDeleteIt has quite a bit of violet in it and I sure colored a lot of things that way in the '80's.
